Mother-Baby Unit

Mother-Baby Unit

The Mother Baby Unit is focused on providing patient and family-centered care with a wide spectrum of obstetrical and pediatric care by obstetric and pediatric specialty physicians, certified nurse midwives, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, international board certified lactation consultants, licensed practical nurses, and administrative staff. All of our licensed staff are certified in neonatal resuscitation and stabilization. We are dedicated to ensuring the safety of our patients while under our care and have extra security measures in place for your new baby.

Mothers who deliver here will recuperate in one of 18 private rooms. Each room comes with a private bathroom and shower. Our goal is to optimize the amount of time you spend with your baby following delivery, so we are a rooming in hospital. This means that healthy newborns, who do not require advanced care, will share their mother’s room during their stay with us. We also offer a level one special care nursery to provide advanced care for newborns requiring further post-delivery transition care with a highly skilled nursing staff on duty 24/7.

Family and friends are encouraged to visit to enhance the cohesiveness of the family unit and the patient’s support systems. Visitors are welcome 24 hours a day with quiet hours from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. and again during kangaroo care time from 2 to 4 p.m. For the safety of our patients, visitors with cold or flu-like symptoms are not allowed to visit the unit. One adult may stay with the new mother and baby overnight during their hospital stay. The purpose of overnight visitation is to allow the family to adjust to its newest member in the hospital setting. A child under the age of 12 may also stay the night, but there is only one pull out bed per room for visitor use. The adult visitor is responsible for the child and cannot be supervised by the parent who is currently the patient. Otherwise, childcare will need to be arranged prior to delivery.

We are honored to be able to celebrate your new member of the family and look forward to seeing you with us on the Mother Baby Unit.
