Quiet Hours are from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. to allow newly postpartum patients adequate quiet for recuperation.
The Mother-Baby Unit is a team that provides a wide spectrum of obstetrical and pediatric care by obstetrical, gynecological and pediatric specialty physicians, certified nurse midwives, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, international board certified lactation consultants, licensed practical nurses, and administrative staff. This team is committed to provide Patient and Family-centered postpartum and newborn care with minimum disruption and separation following birth.
Mothers who deliver will recuperate in one of 20 private rooms. Healthy newborns who do not require advanced care will share their mothers' room during their post-partum period. The unit has a Level I Newborn Nursery to provide advanced care for newborns requiring further post-delivery transition needs.
The mother and family are welcome to invite adults and siblings to their room for visitation. Siblings under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult other than the patient's primary support person. For the safety of postpartum patients and newborns, guests with cold or flu-like symptoms are not to visit the unit. In addition the deemed support person is the only one to stay overnight due to space limitations. Siblings are not allowed to stay the night and adequate child coverage needs to be arranged.
